So you just signed up to SWDiplomacy, and you're interested in playing? Let this serve as a helpful reference on how to get started, and how to apply to become a planet leader.  On SWD, you have the ability to apply for a planet and take complete control of it's political, economic, and military affairs.  We maintain a game system populated with real planets from the Star Wars universe that you can take control of.  Before officially applying, it is recommended you take a look through our planet list here.  When browsing the list, you can easily determine which planets are available, and which ones are already taken as referenced in the graphic below.

The planets with the user icon attached are currently taken.  In this case, Coruscant and Dac would be unavailable to apply for, and
Cronese Mandate and Csilla would be available to apply for.

For all players, whether or not you are familiar or not with Star Wars lore, or the Star Wars canon and/or Legends universe, we would recommend utilizing Wookieepedia to learn about some of the planets. While this isn't a requirement - it can help you decide by providing you additional background information on a planet's history and culture.  You can view Wookieepedia here.  When you have made a decision, you will need to utilize the planet application tool to apply.  The tool will give you three options to select, by ranking them as your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preference.  Additionally this tool will provide you with an open-field text area. If there are planets that you wish to apply for that we have not added into the game engine, feel free to put them there.  There are thousands upon thousands of Star Wars planets, and we have only added about 200 of them into our game engine.

Please reference the graphic below on how to access the application tool, and to familiarize yourself with it.  After you have submitted your planet application, it can take anywhere from 24-48 hours for administrators and game moderators to process them. If you have decided to offer additional planet options that we don't have in the game-engine, it can take a few days to add the planet into the game engine.  However, we will let you know if you have been chosen for one of them prior to adding it.

From the dropdown menu, you will select Game Application. This tool will be utilized for all planet applications, and applications for planet swaps. There is no guarantee you may swap planets. If you tank your world, or completely ruin it, there is no requirement for us to let you start with a new slate. Your goal should be to play through your world, through thick or thin.  See below for a preview of the planet application tool for your reference to the above supporting text.
