Star Wars Diplomacy Feature Plan

Keep up to date with what we have planned for Star Wars Diplomacy going forward!
  1. Our plan is to utilize the existing galaxy map that is created by Henry Bernberg over at http://www.swgalaxymap.com/.  Our goal is to do one of a few things.  We either will get his map ported over into our website, with some adjustments being made. Instead of the map showing colors of planets for legends or canon, they will instead show as "playable" planets we have in the game, and "Rest of galaxy".  The other option will be to only show planets that are in our game, which I'm not a fan of.  Lastly, I think we could possibly also use 10x10 pixel thumbnails of our planet images as the icons for the playable planets in this game, and just have grey dots for all the rest of the planets. The map would keep all of the layers (regions, sectors, hyperspace lanes), and would still be searchable.  Ultimately it would be nice to tie it into the planet pages - and display the grid coordinates for each planet on your planet page, and have it be a clickable link to open the map where your planet is.

  3. This was a project that began in 2017, but wasn't completed. The plan is to get an interactive order-of-battle management system that is simple, easy, and effective. A major concern is also how much time it takes to use, and how draining it is on you as a player in building an order-of-battle. We plan to base the system off of an existing AngularJS UI Tree script, utilizing JScript. Below is a screenshot of an empty demo version of the system - you can play around with the demo at http://angular-ui-tree.github.io/angular-ui-tree/#/basic-example - the best part of this is that the code exists and would just need to be fit into the IPS CMS pages and then tied into our database and modified to pull your planet's military units, and save them in the format you make them.

  7. The SWD Test Center is our long term development and testing platform to ensure safe, seamless, and efficient development of the game engine, and future modifications and applications.  The Test Center ensures that we don't break the live forums here with development work, and can keep all development contained in a safe space.  Members will be selectively recruited to help beta test all applications and game developments.
